What is MTN Data bundle?

MTN Data bundles have been revamped to be affordable, giving you more value for money and excellent internet experience on MTN data network.


Who can subscribe to MTN Data bundle?

All MTN Customers can subscribe to any MTN Data bundle.


How do I subscribe to MTN Data bundles?

You can subscribe to any MTN Data bundles via USSD by dialing *131*1# and selecting your preferred data plan or via SMS by sending the bundle plan keyword to 131. See table below for keywords


What are the different MTN Data bundles plans available?

They are Daily, Weekly, Monthly, quarterly etc. See table below for the available data bundles


How do I check my MTN data Bundle balance?

To check your data bundle balance, simply dial *131*4# or text 2 to 131.


Can I purchase multiple MTN Data bundles?

Yes, you can activate multiple data bundles and all the data bundle purchased will have its own unique expiry dates.


If I have multiple data bundles active, which bundle will deplete first?

If you have multiple data bundles active, the data bundle with the least validity will be used first.

Example: If you have a 30-day bundle plan and 1day plan active, the 1 day plan will be used first before the 30-day plan.


What happens if I exhaust my data bundle before the renewal date?

As soon as you exhaust your data bundle before the expiry, your data access will be suspended and you will not be able to browse again. To continue browsing, you will need to do one of the following:

  1. Buy another data plan by dialing *131*1#,
  2. Borrow data by dialing *606#
  3. Opt-in for a Pay As You Go browsing by dialing *131*200# to continue browsing from your airtime @N3/MB

Will I be able to rollover my unused data bundle?

Yes, you will be able to roll over any unused data bundle as long as you buy another bundle before the current bundle expires BUT you will NOT be able to roll over unused bonus.


If I have multiple data bundles active, which bundle will auto-renew first?

If you have multiple data bundles active from the various plans, the last bundle purchased from that plan will be the bundle that will be auto-renewed. i.e. All bundles will renew according to their bundle category – daily, weekly and monthly.

Example:

if I activated 2 plans from the daily plans; 50MB on Oct 1, 150MB on Oct 2 and 2 plans from the weekly plan; 500MB on Oct 3 and 1GB on Oct 4, on the day of renew, only 150MB from the daily plan will auto-renew while the 1GB from the weekly plan will be the plan to auto-renew.


Will I be able to cancel auto-renewal anytime?

Yes, you will be able to cancel auto-renewal on your bundle anytime by sending the opt-out keyword to 131. See table below.


Can I share my MTN Data bundle?

No, you will not be able to share your data bundle.


Is there data bonus on any of the MTN data plans?

Yes the following data bundles offers you data bonus after activating them.

  1. 250MB Bonus on the 500MB weekly plan
  2. 500MB Bonus on the 1GB monthly plan
  3. 1GB Bonus on the 2.5GB monthly plan

However, you can only use the data bonus between 1am and 7am daily but the main data bundle will be used any time of the day.

Also note that the bonus will have the same validity with the main bundle.


I can see that there is a new 1.5GB monthly data bundle. Will I be able to use the data bundle any time of the day?

The 1GB + 500MB bonus data plan will be used first (1GB at any time of the day and the data bonus of 500MB can only be used from 1.00am to 7.00am) and after the data bundle has been exhausted then data charges will be deducted from the new 1.5GB Monthly plan.


Will I be able to browse from my airtime automatically after exhausting my data bundle?

You will be able to browse from your airtime after exhausting your data bundle BUT you will be required to opt in before you can browse from your airtime at Pay As You Go rate.


How do I opt in for PAYG browsing?

To opt in for PAYG browsing, simply;

  1. Dial *131*200#.
  2. Send RESET to 131.

How much will I be charged for browsing from my airtime after opting in for PAYG browsing?

Your browsing from your airtime will be charged at N3/MB.


Will I be charged for opting in for PAYG browsing?

No, you will not be charged for opting in for PAYG browsing.


How do I opt out of PAYG browsing?

To opt out of PAYG browsing, simply

  1. Dial *131*201#
  2. Send SUSPEND to 131.
